7 Easy Cleaning Hacks You’ll Wish You Knew Before

Cleaning

How tidy is your home? Cleaning regularly can help reduce the risk of respiratory illnesses, prevent the spread of viruses, and reduce exposure to allergens. However, scouring your house from top to bottom can also be a draining chore.

Here are some hacks that will make your cleaning process a whole lot easier. You’ll wonder why you’ve never tried some of these tips and tricks before!

Limited Storage

If you’re running out of space in your home and need to declutter, try using vacuum storage bags. They take up a lot less space than traditional storage containers and can be easily stored under a bed or in a closet. This is especially useful for storing bulky linens or winter jackets during the hotter months of the year.

 Tub Stains

Hard water stains in your tub or shower are a nuisance to wipe away. There’s an easy fix to make your tub white again! Make a paste out of vinegar and baking soda, let it sit, and then scrub the stains with a sponge. The acidity in the vinegar will help break down the stains, while the baking soda will act as an abrasive to remove them.

Stubborn Ovens

To clean your oven without harsh chemicals, mix equal parts baking soda and water to form a thick paste. Spread the paste over the inside of your oven and let it sit for a few hours. Then, scrub it clean with a sponge. This will help you get rid of all of the grease and burnt food that got stuck to the inside of your oven.

 Pet Hair

If you have pet hair on your furniture, try using a rubber glove to remove it. The hair will stick to the glove, making it easy to sweep up. To get the stubborn hairs deep down in the fabric, use a rubber squeegee to rake through the remaining pet dander.

 Streaky Windows

It’s a struggle to clean windows without leaving streaks behind. To tackle this problem, use newspaper to wipe your windows instead of a cleaning cloth. The ink in the newspaper has been proven to prevent visible streaks so that your windows can look shiny and clean.

Dusty Baseboards

It can be challenging to clean all the cracks and crevices of your baseboards. To pick up all of the stubborn dust, grab a used dryer sheet to wipe down this area of your home. With just one easy swipe, you’ll be a step closer to a tidier-looking home.

Wood Stains

If you have cloudy stains on your wood furniture, reach into your fridge and grab a tub of mayonnaise. Apply a light layer over the stain and leave it on overnight, wiping off the mayo the following day. You can buff the area with furniture polish for added shine.

Before You Clean…

Before you start to do a deep clean, you’ll need to declutter your space. If everything has a place, it’s much easier to maintain all of the effort you put into cleaning. Do your best to put some organizational systems in place that will prevent future messes.
